World Cup 2010

THE World Cup 2010 had placed between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. This was the 19th edition of World Cup. This is the first time that the World Cup tournament has been hosted by any African nation. Thirty two nations had been qualified for the World Cup 2010 including host World Cup 2010 and 2006 world cup winner Italy, runners-up France. All the teams had been divided into eight groups.

The team of Spain focused a lot of keeping the ball, especially on the middle. In addition, they focused on the defense so that teams like Germany could not get through. Their goal keeper was great too. They had skilled players who created moves and opened a lot of spaces for the rest of the team was another factor in Spain's victory. The whole team was very united. Sometimes team mate made the wrong moves but they managed to put up a really nice barrier and got victory. The team didn't score a lot of goals, they had 8 goals overall so it makes me think they weren't big on attacking but they focused more on defending and keeping control of the ball. In the final, Spain national football team, the UEFA Euro 2008, defeated third-time finalists Netherlands national football team 1–0 after Overtime (sports) with Andrés goal in the 116th minute giving Spain their first world title, the first time that a European nation has won the tournament outside its home continent. South Africa national football team, Italy national football team and France national football tea were eliminated in the first round of the tournament.
