  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 medium carrots
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cinnamon stick, crumbled
  • 2 cloves
  • 4 black peppercorns
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
